In a Pickle

About two months ago, cherries went on sale.  We bought about 5 pounds and then realized we wouldn’t be able to eat them in time.  So I decided to try to make cherry jam.  Which then turned me into a slight canning frenzy.

We now have 6 jars of bread and butter pickles that will be ready in about a week and 4 jars of okra pickles that will be ready this weekend.  Taylor was smart enough to buy me some canning tongs after I nearly scalded myself several times getting the cherry jam out of the boiling water.  I’m still trying to decide what the next canning venture will be.
