And You’re Getting an ‘A’…And You’re Getting an ‘A’

My third segment of our teacher series focuses on something I’ve heard people say when Taylor says he has to grade.  Usually most people are joking but I have seen a couple people seem to actually mean it.

WHY DON’T YOU JUST GIVE EVERYONE AN A?

The person who suggests this clearly hasn’t explored the full implications of taking the seemingly easy way out.  First of all, if you give everyone an ‘A’ I am pretty sure the administration will be looking into it.  Also you aren’t helping the kids in the long run.  It’s like asking a doctor to give everyone a clean bill of health or a judge to say everyone isn’t guilty.  Granted if your mom was like mine I’m sure you hoped that every teacher would give you an ‘A’ so that you could avoid a discussion about your grades…
